Virginia Giuffre’s Posthumous Memoir Released Six Months After Her Death, Detailing Allegations Against Prince Andrew, Epstein, and Maxwell
LONDON — Six months after her death in April, Virginia Giuffre’s memoir Nobody’s Girl has been published, laying out her account of exploitation by Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and a series of harrowing encounters she alleges involved Prince Andrew. The release follows what Giuffre reportedly described to her co-writer Amy Wallace as her “heartfelt wish” for the book to be made public — even in the event of her death.
Giuffre, who died by suicide earlier this year, recounts years of manipulation and abuse within Epstein’s network. She describes being trafficked to “scores of wealthy, powerful people,” writing that she endured humiliation, violence, and emotional control during her time under Epstein and Maxwell’s influence.
Alleged Encounters With Prince Andrew
A major portion of the memoir focuses on Giuffre’s claim that she had three sexual encounters with Prince Andrew in 2001 and 2002 — allegations the prince has consistently and vigorously denied.
According to the book, Giuffre’s first alleged meeting with Andrew took place in London when she was 17. Maxwell reportedly told her she would be meeting “a handsome prince,” and Giuffre recalls Andrew immediately guessing her age, remarking that his daughters were slightly younger. She also recounts visiting a nightclub with him, describing him as sweating heavily — a detail Andrew rejected in a 2019 interview, saying he had a medical condition that prevented him from sweating at the time.
Giuffre alleges the encounter lasted less than 30 minutes and claims Maxwell later told her, “You did well. The prince had fun.” She further writes that Epstein paid her $15,000 afterward.
Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied all allegations, saying he has “no recollection whatsoever” of meeting Giuffre and maintaining that he was at Pizza Express in Woking with his daughter on the day of the alleged encounter.
The memoir also includes Giuffre’s accounts of two additional alleged encounters with Andrew — one in New York and another on Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She describes the island incident as an “orgy” involving Epstein and multiple young women she believed to be under 18.
A Photograph That Became Infamous
Giuffre also writes about the now widely circulated photo showing Andrew with his arm around her waist. In the memoir, she says she rushed to get her disposable camera, thinking her mother “would never forgive” her for meeting someone as famous as the prince without taking a picture. Andrew has previously suggested the photo may have been doctored.
Epstein and Maxwell’s Roles
Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Maxwell was later convicted of grooming and recruiting underage girls for Epstein and is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
In her memoir, Giuffre describes the years she spent under their control as a period in which she feared she might “die a sex slave,” recalling episodes of physical violence and psychological manipulation.
A Legacy of Unanswered Questions
Giuffre’s memoir arrives at a time of renewed scrutiny surrounding Epstein’s network and those connected to it. Prince Andrew recently relinquished his remaining titles amid mounting pressure over his past association with Epstein and separate reports involving an alleged Chinese spy.
Nobody’s Girl offers the most detailed and personal account Giuffre has ever published, raising questions that will likely continue to reverberate through the public and legal spheres long after her passing.
