It was a glorious night at the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, where the Chicago Cubs officially made history: Three players – Ian Happ, Nico Hoerner and Patrick “PCA” Crow-Armstrong – were honored with the 2025 Gold Gloves.
More than just an individual victory, this is a strong affirmation that the Cubs are back to their peak, with a solid defense and a “Wrigley Field” mentality.
PCA – FROM YOUNG PROSPECT TO NEW ICON IN THE HEART OF DEFENSE
Patrick Crow-Armstrong, the young outfielder once expected to be a “gem of the future,” has truly become a shining diamond. With his speed, reflexes, and extraordinary catches that make the audience jump out of their seats, PCA is not only a “wall” in the center of the outfield, but also the soul of the new generation of Cubs.
He is like “a younger version of Jim Edmonds” — always appearing at the right time, in the right place, and saving the team from seemingly fateful hits.
“I just want to bring pride to Cubs fans every time I walk across the Wrigley green,” PCA shared when lifting his first gold glove of his career.

IAN HAPP – THE FIRE KEEPER IN LEFT FIELD
This is Ian Happ’s third consecutive Gold Glove, a testament to the tenacity, intelligence, and class of one of the National League’s most consistent outfielders.
Happ doesn’t just catch balls, he “commands the outfield.” His sliding catches, his inch-perfect throws — all of which are his trademark.
“It’s special to be on this stage with my teammates. The Cubs don’t just play defense — we play together,” Happ said, beaming as he held the trophy.

NICO HOERNER – THE HEART OF INFIELD, THE TIREDLESS MAN
If PCA is the bird in the open field, Happ is the solid wall, then Nico Hoerner is the heart in the middle of the field. With his speed, ball-handling skills, and fierce spirit, Hoerner turned second base into a “no-go zone.”
Every swing, every pass to first base was as neat as a clockwork — a perfect model of precision in modern MLB.
“Every play I make is for the cheers in Wrigley,” Hoerner shared emotionally. “I grew up with the Cubs, and it’s a privilege to wear this jersey every day.”

CUBS – BACK WITH THE SPIRIT OF “THE FINEST IN THE FIELD”
No team in 2025 has the same all-around defense as the Chicago Cubs. With three prestigious Gold Gloves, they are the only MLB team to have three players honored, affirming their position as the top player in the National League.
Under a new dynasty, the Cubs are not just rebuilding — they are rebuilding an empire, starting with those who know how to protect every inch of grass green as gold.
A night of pride, of golden light, and of new beginnings.
From Patrick Crow-Armstrong to Ian Happ to Nico Hoerner — three faces, three stories, but one soul: Cubs never quit.
Chicago was bright tonight, and Wrigley Field echoed the old chant:
“Let’s go Cubs — the Gold Glove belongs to the North Side!”
