What was supposed to be a night of debate and free speech quickly descended into violence and bloodshed at the University of California, Berkeley, when protesters clashed with attendees outside a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event on campus. Police were forced to intervene as chaos erupted just hours before the scheduled talk — a reminder that even America’s most celebrated universities are now battlefields in the war over ideas.
Witnesses describe a terrifying scene: shouting, shoving, and sudden punches flying outside Zellerbach Hall. Within minutes, a crowd of agitators had surrounded students waiting to enter the TPUSA event, chanting slogans and waving signs condemning “hate.” When one student tried to film the protest, a fight broke out.
