The NFL announced today that Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen has been named one of the official finalists for the 2025 NFL Service Award, an honor recognizing players who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their communities off the field.
Queen, who joined the Steelers after his breakout years with the Baltimore Ravens, has not only made a major impact on the field but has also become a pillar of leadership and community engagement in Pittsburgh. His charity work â including youth mentorship programs, food drives, and education initiatives through the Queenâs Court Foundation â has earned widespread respect throughout the league.
âThis means more than football,â Queen said when asked about the nomination. âBeing able to give back, to make a difference â thatâs the real win for me.â
Fans across Steelers Nation flooded social media with congratulatory messages, praising Queen for representing the black and gold with pride both on and off the gridiron.
Head coach Mike Tomlin also weighed in, calling Queen âthe definition of a Steeler â tough, committed, and driven to serve something bigger than himself.â
The NFL Service Award winner will be announced during the annual NFL Honors Ceremony ahead of the Super Bowl in February 2026.
For Queen, the recognition caps off whatâs already been a standout season. Heâs currently among the team leaders in tackles and has emerged as the emotional heartbeat of a defense thatâs once again among the leagueâs best.
Whether he takes home the trophy or not, one thing is clear â Patrick Queenâs influence in Pittsburgh goes far beyond football.
