Apologist and author Frank Turek has spent much of his life defending the Christian faith with clarity, logic, and calm conviction. But nothing in his decades of ministry could have prepared him for what unfolded on Sept. 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University — the day conservative and Christian commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated just feet away from him.

“An evil event like this doesn’t disprove God,” he said. “It may prove there’s a devil out there, but it doesn’t disprove God. Because you wouldn’t even know what evil was unless there was a standard of good, and you wouldn’t know what good was unless God existed. So it’s actually an argument for God, not an argument against God.”
But the emotional weight of his explanation reveals something deeper: Turek wasn’t just defending theological principles — he was grieving. He described Kirk as someone close enough to be a son, a young leader he had mentored, supported, and cherished. The loss was not abstract. It was personal. It was devastating.
