- Reeseâs honor outside WNBA draws a reaction from the Sky.
- Drama emerged after Reeseâs comments about possibly leaving Chicago Sky.
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese was named an All-Star for a second straight season after another memorable campaign. Despite dealing with multiple injuries throughout the year, including a back issue that forced her to miss the last stretch of the season, the 23-year-old was still able to produce averages of 14.7 points, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 30 games played.
Reese shone in Chicago despite the Sky finishing with a 10-34 record and occupying the second-last seed. Despite another strong year from the former LSU Tigers star, the Sky missed the playoffs again for a second consecutive year.

Thereâs no denying at this point that Reese is one of the brightest young stars in the league. The Sky had very high expectations for her when they selected her as the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and it would be safe to say that the 6-foot-3 forward has been able to live up to the hype.
Apart from being a force on the basketball court, Reese has also firmly established herself as a fashion icon. As much as the fans look forward to her performances during games, supporters have also grown fond of her pregame outfits and tunnel walks.
A testament to this is that Reese was recently named the WNBA MVP by LeagueFits, a social channel by SLAM Magazine dedicated to playersâ gameday fashion statements. Reese is also part of the All-LeagueFits First Team alongside Sky teammate Hailey Van Lith, Kahleah Copper, Rickea Jackson and Isabelle Harrison.
The Sky caught wind of the news and they took to social media to proudly share the announcement.
âRUNWAY BARBIE đAngel Reese takes @leaguefits First Team + MVP đâ the team posted on Instagram.
Reese has been adventurous with her outfits for games, and theyâve consistently grabbed the attention of fans night in and night out. The LeagueFits MVP honor speaks volumes about her dominance in the WNBA, not only on the court but also off it as a fashion icon.
Reese, who was also recently announced as the first-ever professional athlete to model for the upcoming Victoriaâs Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 15, shared her latest achievement via social media. The former three-time AP All-American took to Instagram to share the LeagueFits MVP announcement.
Reese flexed her win using one word: âDUH.â
The Sky are clearly proud of their starâs latest achievement off the court. This comes amid the recent controversy surrounding Reeseâs future with the team.
The All-Star forward insinuated in a September interview that she would be willing to leave Chicago if her objectives no longer aligned with the teamâs, which did not sit well with the front office. Reese quickly apologized for her comments, but the team decided to punish her by benching her for one half.
Reese is still under contract with the Sky through 2027, but this issue caused some drama in terms of her relationship with the team.
