After winning back-to-back MLB championships, the Dodgers are entering the off-season with a clear focus: strengthening their roster to achieve their goal of winning three straight championships. Among the issues that need to be addressed, the bullpen is the most emphasized point. In the 2025 season, the Dodgers’ bullpen recorded an ERA of 4.27 – a number among the lowest in the league.

Of the 11 relief pitchers who threw at least 25 innings, six had an ERA above 4.50; and big signings like Kirby Yates and Blake Treinen even had an ERA above 5.00.
So the Dodgers are looking for pitchers with real “closer” capabilities. Edwin DĂaz – a former All-Star closer for the New York Mets – is the first name mentioned. Devin Williams, a free agent, is also on the radar. The Dodgers pursued Williams before when he was with the Milwaukee Brewers, but he was traded away, and he is now a free agent.
It’s not just pitching: the Dodgers are also looking at the outfield. One of those targets is Steven Kwan, who is with the Cleveland Guardians. The Dodgers were close to a deal to bring Kwan back before the trade deadline. This year, they are expected to continue pursuing him, even though the cost of his prospects will be very high.
With a “three-peat” vision (winning three consecutive championships), the Dodgers are very proactive in the transfer market. They have clearly identified their priorities: strong closer, additional outfield, and overall bullpen improvement – to stay at the top next season.
