Emma Watson, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations and the famous actress of the Harry Potter film series, is a meditator with a special interest in Buddhism.
In a recent interview with the Belgian newspaper Metro, she discussed her spiritual life and her positive psychological changes. Part of the interview was also translated and published in other French newspapers.

Accordingly, in the interview, she said that her father was not religious, while her mother was a spiritual person and lived a very open life. Born and raised with two opposite directions like that, she began to develop ideas about rituals, traditions and community responsibilities. However, according to her, these are quite dark aspects when they appear in movies.
When asked about practicing spiritual life, Emma Watson affirmed that she was born with an interest and respect for Buddhism. These thoughts originated from the path of literature, but for her, reading books was not enough, so she started by practicing Buddhist life.
“I was destined to come to Buddhism, practice the teachings of Buddha and really enjoy it. What I am experiencing about spiritual life has helped me a lot in my work and development”, Emma Watson confided.
She also added that this past summer she took part in a social media internship called “The Vow to Be Silent After a Terrible Breakup” and also learned about meditation.
Emma Watson was born in Paris, France. She is the daughter of two British lawyers, Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson. In addition to being an actress, she is also a model and a social activist. She is best known for her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter series, which was adapted from the novels of the same name by female writer J.K. Rowling, including 8 films from 2001 to 2011.
Before being cast as Hermione at the age of 9, Emma had never acted professionally and had only participated in a few school plays.
