Virginia Giuffre – the high-profile victim in the sex scandal involving U.S. financier Jeffrey Epstein, who also accused Britain’s Prince Andrew – has said she has only “a few days to live” after being involved in a car accident in Australia.
In a social media post on Sunday, Giuffre shared a photo of herself lying in a hospital bed with a head injury and revealed her deteriorating health. “I’ve gone into kidney failure, doctors have given me four days to live, and I’m being transferred to a specialist urology hospital,” she wrote. “I’m ready to go, I just want to see my children one last time.”
She also thanked those who have supported her throughout her life. Her father, Sky Roberts, commented: “My daughter, I love you and I’m praying that you get the right treatment to live a long and healthy life.”
Giuffre’s representative, Dini von Mueffling, confirmed to The Guardian that she had been in “a serious accident” and was currently receiving medical treatment.
According to Western Australia Police, on March 24 there was a minor collision between a school bus and a car in Neergabby, north of Perth. Reports indicated that the car sustained about A$2,000 in damage, with no injuries recorded. However, police confirmed that a 41-year-old woman was in the car.
Giuffre has been living with her husband in Ocean Reef, a northern suburb of Perth. In 2021, she filed a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew in U.S. federal court, alleging that he sexually assaulted her when she was 17. In 2022, both sides reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount.
Ghislaine Maxwell – Epstein’s longtime associate – is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking, while Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial.
Giuffre’s family later stated that her widely discussed post was originally intended to be shared privately on Facebook, not publicly on Instagram.
