SEATTLE — The Mariners community is bursting with pride as two of their iconic names, Ichiro Suzuki and Félix Hernández, have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame for the latest round of voting. This is a resounding milestone, signaling the possibility that two legendary names may soon be etched into the eternal history of Cooperstown.
Ichiro Suzuki – the immortal hitter who carries the symbol of Mariners pride – set a record during his time in Seattle with more than 3,000 hits in MLB.

His first nomination is not surprising, but it is meaningful: it is a testament to the undeniable influence of Ichiro, who has saved the team in difficult times and created a unique style on the field.
Along with Ichiro, “KingFelix” Hernández – the legendary pitcher of the Mariners – is also a new name on the Hall of Fame ballot. After 15 loyal seasons with Seattle (2005–2019), Félix left an indelible mark: a Cy Young win in 2010, a Perfect Game classic in 2012 and more than 2,500 strikeouts.
Although he was not elected to Cooperstown for the first time, his name reappears on the 2026 ballot in the hope of spreading new faith.
This move is not only a spiritual gift for Mariners fans but also an affirmation of long-term strategy. The two legends represent two distinct parts of Seattle’s heritage: Ichiro – the unwavering spirit, the “finesse” of baseball; Félix – the power, the decisiveness at the top of the pitching ladder.
The Mariners community across social media immediately exploded. Fans shared memories, videos, and “golden” moments of Ichiro and KingFelix, and expressed strong hopes that Cooperstown would welcome them with a prestigious portrait.

With Ichiro, many experts predicted he could become a first-ballot candidate because of his great influence and outstanding statistics. Meanwhile, Félix was highly appreciated for his potential to increase votes in the future, especially when fans and commentators began to re-evaluate the value of the “King Felix” peak in the context of voting criteria changing over time.
For the Mariners, this is a moment to reflect on their legacy and be proud to have icons like Ichiro and Félix embark on their journey toward eternity. If successful, the team will not only add a Hall of Fame card to their roster, but also a beacon of hope that the Mariners legacy will live on.
Congratulations, Ichiro, congratulations, KingFelix — and thank you for making Seattle great!
