Alejandro Kirk has never been one to talk much about his personal life. But last week, at a meeting with a group of disabled students in Toronto, he suddenly mentioned his cousin in Mexico – a boy who dreamed of becoming a football player but had to give it all up after losing his hearing in an accident at age 5.
“He didn’t need anyone’s pity, he just needed a chance, and the chances were too few. I’ve carried that story in my heart for years, and now I don’t want to be silent anymore,” Kirk said, bringing the room to a standstill.

Today, they officially announced The Little Bell Fund – a scholarship fund that supports deaf children in Canada and Mexico, from hearing aids, school materials to sports programs specifically for children with hearing loss.
The meaning of the name made fans even more emotional: “Bell” is the nickname of Kirk’s cousin, because of the small bell he used to wear when he was a child.
Isabella choked up and shared:
“We want every child to have the right to hear, to learn, to play, to dream. If the world is too loud for them, then we will create a place where their voices will never disappear.”
Less than an hour after the announcement was posted, the donation page was almost overloaded with visitors.
