Coming off a season that came so close to winning the World Series, the Blue Jays are expected to make a big move in the upcoming trade window by targeting Kyle Tucker, one of the most complete and accomplished outfielders on the free market.

Multiple sources, including MLB Network experts Jon Heyman and Mark Feinsand, have suggested that the Blue Jays are a top contender for Tucker this offseason. They stress that Toronto has the financial wherewithal and ambition to make a big offer.
Tucker, 28, is set to enter free agency after the season with the Chicago Cubs. According to MLB.com, he is considered a complete player: he has power, speed, defense, and consistent experience.
A move to Toronto would put him on a very strong roster where he can shine and make a big contribution.
An interesting detail that has been circulating in the rumor mill is that Tucker’s former teammate, Myles Straw – now a Blue Jay player – has been very enthusiastic about “recruiting” him by offering to… babysit Tucker’s children if he comes to Toronto.
This move has been seen by many fans as both humorous and symbolic of the team’s desire to acquire Tucker.
However, there are still major hurdles. According to CBS Sports, the Cubs also want to keep Tucker and are considering an extension.
This could cost the Blue Jays a lot to convince him.
If the Blue Jays do get Tucker, it would be a huge boost for the team: he could fill a gap in the offense, increase his scoring ability, and create a strong bond with stars like Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
For now, everything is just a rumor. There has been no official announcement from the Blue Jays or Tucker. The race to sign him is set to be one of the hottest this winter — and if successful, the Blue Jays will really show off their big ambitions for next season.
