Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Blake Treinen has made headlines not just for his on-field performance, but also for his deep religious beliefs. According to a post on Movieguide, the 37-year-old has openly stated that his goal in life is not just to win on the field, but to bring the Christian message to as many people as possible.

In an interview with CBN Sports, Treinen shared that he wants to “make heaven crowded” – a metaphor for wanting everyone around him, from teammates to spectators, to have spiritual hope.
He said: “Each of us has been given a gift, and the way we repay God is to glorify Him through that gift. When I am ushered into the gates of heaven, I want to hear, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’”

Off the mound, Treinen also brings his faith to every pitch. He revealed that when he pitches, it is his way of worshiping God – every time he prepares to pitch, he draws a cross on his hand and points it to the sky, declaring: “I don’t play for myself, I play for Him.”
Treinen once attended a Dodgers Faith and Family event, where he read from the Bible and shared his famous verse – Romans 10:9:
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

According to Crosswalk.com, Treinen also emphasized that faith is not just a sideline to his life, but the center. He believes that if given the opportunity, people should know God through the way he lives, the way he pitches, and the way he uses his gifts.
In addition, Treinen has been outspoken about his religious views on sensitive topics. According to Liberty Counsel, he criticized the Dodgers for inviting the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” – an LGBTQ performance group – to a Pride Night event because he felt it contradicted his Christian faith.
Despite the pressure on the field, Treinen said that God’s presence in his life helps him stay grounded. For him, every time he takes the field to pitch, it’s not just a job – it’s a mission: to spread faith, share God’s love, and call people to truth, goodness, and beauty.
