NEW YORK — A humane shock has just shaken the baseball community and New York City: Jazz Chisholm Jr., the young star of the New York Yankees, has officially launched the “New York Sanctuary” project — a large-scale shelter for stray dogs, with the goal of bringing hundreds of small souls from the streets to safe shelter.
At a press conference held in the Bronx, Chisholm appeared simple but full of emotion. “Every life deserves love and a safe home,” he said, his voice breaking amid thunderous applause. “When I see a dog shivering on the street, I can’t ignore it anymore.”

According to sources close to Chisholm, he has used part of his personal fortune to kick-start the project and will work with animal nonprofits to ensure sustainability.

Joining the Yankees from the Miami Marlins, Chisholm quickly conquered the Bronx with his fiery style of play, and the 2025 season also put him among the rare MLB elite to hit 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in the same season. That’s enough to carve his name into the team’s history books.
