SEATTLE – Seattle was rocked this morning when Mariners star Josh Naylor first shared his vision for his newborn son. It wasn’t a “let him choose his own path” statement, Naylor said it straight – powerful, emotional, and symbolic: “If he wants to be a Mariner, I’ll do everything I can to make sure he becomes a Mariner like his dad.”
For the Mariners, Naylor has been more than just a source of competitive fire, he’s a symbol of fighting spirit, of emotional explosion, of loyalty – and now he’s about to pass it all on to the next generation.

The day Josh Naylor left the Mariners to be with his wife during labor marked a special turning point in his career and life. The 29-year-old, known for his explosive personality on the field, burst into tears when he held his baby boy for the first time.
“In that moment, I knew I had just become the most important person in his life. And I vowed to be the role model,” Naylor said.
The birth of his child did not diminish Naylor’s fighting spirit—it only strengthened it. Returning to the team just days after his son was born, Naylor immediately made his mark in the postseason, as if his newfound strength had been infused into his body.
In a recent interview, Naylor revealed that his son had been wearing a Mariners bodysuit since his first day home.
“I picked him up and said, ‘We belong in Seattle.’ And my wife just laughed,” he shared happily.
According to Naylor, his family wants their son to grow up in an environment full of sportsmanship, but not imposing.

However, when asked if his son wants to pursue a career in baseball, Naylor answered without hesitation:
“I will teach him everything I know. I want him to understand how to fight, how to play for the team, how to be proud to wear Mariners blue.”
MARINERS FANS EXPLODE – “THE LITTLE BOY IS THE FUTURE!”
Immediately after Naylor’s sharing, Seattle social media exploded:
“We don’t just have Naylor – we have Naylor Jr.!”
“Future legend. Let’s raise another warrior, Josh!”
“Seattle is proud of your family.”
Many fans joked that in 18 years, the Mariners should prepare the first contract for “Baby Naylor”.
Josh Naylor has long been known as one of MLB’s most emotional players: strong, determined, and on fire with every swing. With the Mariners, he was the heartbeat of the locker room, the roar when the team needed a boost.

Now, when he talks about his son, his voice is no longer the familiar “heat” explosion – but a gentleness mixed with pride.
“I want him to be free, but I also want him to see what baseball has given me – discipline, passion, love, sacrifice. If he chooses this game, I will be there with him every step of the way,” Naylor said.
The Mariners have become Josh Naylor’s second home. And with today’s sharing, Seattle can also be considered the place where the story of the next generation of Naylors begins.
When asked what he’s most looking forward to, Josh Naylor just smiles:
“If I see him running around T-Mobile Park one day, in a Mariners jersey… I’ll know it was worth it.”
A warrior playing for the Mariners. Another warrior growing up in his arms. And Seattle—as always—is waiting for the next miracle from the Naylor family.
