BREAKING: MIGUEL ROJAS’S SON SENT A SWEET MESSAGE TO HIS DAD AFTER RENEWING HIS DODGERS CONTRACT: “DAD, I’M PROUD THAT YOU’RE GOING TO BE A BLUE WARRIOR!”.y1

Los Angeles is more than usual these days—not just with the news that Miguel Rojas has officially signed a contract extension with the Dodgers, but also with a touching moment from his own family. When the star infielder signed a contract that will keep him in Dodger blue for many more years, the first person to run up and hug him was not a teammate or an agent, but his young son, Mateo.

And it was Mateo who created the moments that touched the Dodgers community: a handwritten note, scribbled but sincere, handed to his father right at the press conference:
“Dad, I’m proud of you staying with the Dodgers. I want to grow up and wear blue like you, and run onto the field with you one day.”

There was no instrument when it quieted down. Rojas—a veteran veteran who had endured challenging seasons in Miami, Cincinnati, and Los Angeles—was suddenly in tears. He hugged his son, smiling as he ran through the broken showroom.

A family commitment—but also an affirmation of the Dodgers

Rojas, 35, was limited in his agreement with the Dodgers for a reason he’s made clear many times: “This is my home.” But having it come from his son—who grew up around Dodger Stadium, memorizing every star, every moment from Mookie Betts to Freddie Freeman—made the story that much more special.

Mateo is often featured in behind-the-scenes videos of the team running around the field while Rojas practices. The Dodgers once posted a clip of Mateo throwing Freddie Freeman with the caption: “Another Rojas in the making?”

And today, Mateo’s message is a small promise: L.A.’s future may have another “Rojas” on the green field.

Technically, Rojas isn’t a powerhouse offensive star, but he’s the kind of player any good team needs:

Top-level defense with MLB-leading ball handling.

More than a decade of experience in the world’s biggest entertainment industry.

The ability to lead and stabilize young players like Miguel Vargas and Gavin Lux.

Keeping Rojas isn’t just about protecting roster depth. It’s about maintaining a “blue heart” in the clubhouse—one who keeps Dodgers culture at its highest level.

After hugging his son, Rojas turned back to the microphone and said in a gravelly voice:
“The moment I resolved this… I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. I’m back because the Dodgers are my family. And obviously, for my son, it’s part of my family.”

That statement created a room full of gas—a consensus, a recognition that sometimes basketball is about more than tactics, more than contract values, but also about stronger human connections.

As soon as the story went viral on social media, Dodgers fans were sharing their congratulations. The hashtag #RojasFamily quickly climbed to the top trending in the Los Angeles area. Many left comments: “A warrior on the field, a gentle father off it.”

While the trade market has produced many riotous ball knights, the Dodgers have created one of the most poignant moments this winter: a contract that keeps not just a player—but a family, a heart, and a transportation system.

And at the final report, Mateo held his father’s hand, smiled, and whispered just enough for the microphone to pick up:
“Dad, the Dodgers need you. And so do I.”

No one in the room could contain their smiles. The Dodgers had just kept Rojas—but more than that, they kept a pride in the Blue Family.
