Lola Young left fans horrified when she collapsed on stage at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York, just moments after admitting she had been struggling through a “tricky couple of days.”
The 24-year-old pop star, best known for her 2024 hit single Messy, was performing her track Conceited at Forest Hills Stadium when she suddenly fell, forcing medical staff to carry her away in front of a shocked audience.
Before the incident, Lola had opened up to fans, telling them: “I had a tricky couple of days, sometimes life makes you feel that you can’t continue but you know what, I woke up and made the decision to come here.”
Hours later, she reassured worried fans on Instagram: “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at all things go today, I am doing okay now. Thank you for all of your support xxx.”

The collapse came a day after Lola cancelled another performance due to what her manager Nick Shymansky called a “sensitive matter.” He explained: “There are days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe. She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously.”
Lola has been open in the past about her health battles. In 2022, she revealed she had been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder at the age of 17, describing the impact as life-changing. She said: “I can’t find the words to describe how much this diagnosis has affected my entire life. My mental health condition does not define me. It is my superpower.”
The star also shared that two of her uncles, both diagnosed with schizophrenia, had tragically died, and admitted she sometimes struggles with guilt, shame, and the unpredictable nature of her illness. She explained that manic episodes can last weeks, often leaving her unable to sleep and making touring a huge challenge.
Despite this, Lola’s raw honesty and determination to keep performing has only deepened the admiration from her fans, who continue to rally behind her.
