Jones, Schottenheimer open up on Cowboys' decision to place CB Trevon Diggs on IR

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Micah Parsons didn’t hold back after his Green Bay Packers’ win on Sunday night.
The star linebacker opened up about his frustration with how the Dallas Cowboys handled Trevon Diggs’ recovery from his catastrophic knee injury — and his words were nothing short of explosive.

“Honestly, I feel like they f***ed my dog over, you know what I mean?” Parsons told Yahoo Sports from the postgame locker room.
“He’s coming off a catastrophic knee injury and I just didn’t think they did right by him. He didn’t participate all camp and he’s going out there playing Week 1 and 2. I just don’t think you do that to a player like that.”

Parsons, who spent three seasons with the Cowboys before joining the Packers, spoke with raw emotion as he described what he saw as a serious mishandling of one of Dallas’ top defensive players.

“The type of knee injury he had — they forced him out there,” Parsons continued. “He has no reps really. He’s telling me he was in warmup phase during Week 1. Even with the ramp-up, I just feel like you just don’t do that.”

His comments quickly went viral across social media, sending shockwaves through both fanbases. Many Cowboys supporters defended the team’s medical staff, while others sided with Parsons, arguing that rushing Diggs back too soon may have put his long-term health at risk.

NFL insiders have since echoed Parsons’ concerns, noting that a torn ACL — the injury Diggs suffered — typically requires a cautious recovery timeline, with many players not returning to full strength until deep into the following season.

For Parsons, the issue wasn’t just physical — it was about respect and care for a teammate.

“He’s one of the best corners in the league,” Parsons said. “You don’t just rush greatness back like that. Let the man heal.”

The Cowboys have yet to publicly respond to Parsons’ comments, but the story has already taken on a life of its own — one that could stir serious questions inside Dallas’ locker room.

Because when a player like Micah Parsons speaks this loudly, the whole NFL listens.
