Estrada’s foundation, “Heart for Hope,” announced it has surpassed $500,000 in donations just 10 days after launching its campaign to support children in Venezuela born with congenital heart conditions. The figure was confirmed by Estrada’s team of representatives and validated by several partnering medical groups.
“It feels like a dream,” Estrada said in a statement. “But what matters most is that these kids now have a chance to dream too.”
His journey back to help Venezuelan families is deeply personal. Estrada’s mother has spoken publicly about the family’s modest upbringing and the lack of access to medical care where he grew up. For the Giants infielder, the project isn’t PR — it’s repayment.
According to medical partners in Caracas and Maracaibo, the early funds will help cover diagnostic tests, surgeries, transportation, and long-term care for dozens of children. The program is expected to expand beyond treatment into education for parents and community health support.
Giants manager Bob Melvin praised Estrada’s leadership.
“He leads in the clubhouse,” Melvin said. “Now he’s leading off the field too.”
Several Giants teammates shared the initiative on their social media feeds, including Brandon Crawford, Logan Webb, and Wilmer Flores, who has known Estrada since childhood.
