ST. LOUIS – Legendary St. Louis Cardinals player Yadier Molina recently publicly criticized the team’s executive board after a series of crises in the 2025 season. Although he has been away from the field since 2022, Molina’s statements still shocked the fan community and experts.
In a recent interview, Molina did not hesitate to express his disappointment with the current situation of the team:
“We have lost our way. It’s time to change or die. The executive board needs to take a look at how they run the team.”
Molina’s words not only reflect concerns about the team’s poor performance but also directly criticize the executive board, especially the lack of investment in young players and long-term strategy.
After retiring, Molina returned to the team as a guest coach. In a recent match, he wore the legendary No. 4 jersey and sat on the coaching bench with head coach Oliver Marmol. Although his role is only temporary, Molina’s presence has raised hopes for a new future for the team.
In response to Molina’s criticism, the team’s executive board responded. President Bill DeWitt Jr. said:
“We understand the fans’ frustration. We are working hard to get the team back to where it deserves to be.”
However, many people believe that these words are just an excuse for past mistakes and are not enough to ease the fans’ worries.
With strong statements and deep love for the team, many believe that Molina can return in a more important role. Some sources said that he turned down attractive offers from other teams to stay and help his old team.
Although there is no official information, fans hope that Molina will return and help the team overcome this difficult period.
