Charlie Kirk’s murder suspect – Tyler Robinson – remains silent and refuses to cooperate with the police even though his relatives have revealed many important information.
On September 14, Utah Governor Spencer Cox said that Tyler Robinson – the suspect in the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk – refused to cooperate with investigators.
“He did not confess to the authorities. He did not cooperate but everyone around him cooperated,” Cox said.
The Utah governor said that although Robinson (22 years old) grew up in a conservative family, his ideology was very different from that of his relatives. He also said that the suspect “had a left-wing ideology”.
According to the governor, the above conclusion was made based on interviews of investigators with family members, but related details were not disclosed.
Mr. Cox also said that Robinson had an obsession with “dark places on the Internet”, and affirmed that this was obvious after the content of the inscription on the bullet casing found at the scene had been clarified.
Meanwhile, Lance Twiggs, a transgender roommate who is believed to be Robinson’s partner, has been “incredibly cooperative” and is still working with investigators, according to Cox.
However, Cox also refused to speculate on whether the relationship had anything to do with the suspect’s motive, as Twiggs said he had no knowledge of the planned crime.
Robinson is being held without bail and is expected to be formally charged on September 16.
Robinson was arrested three days ago after a manhunt for the killer of American politician Charlie Kirk.
Authorities have yet to reveal full details of how Robinson was apprehended, but multiple reports suggest his father urged him to surrender after recognizing his son in grainy surveillance footage released by police.
“Someone very close to him basically turned him in,” US President Donald Trump said on September 12.
