It’s one thing to win games in the NFL; it’s another to win them clean. Through four consecutive weeks, the Cowboys have done just that — playing disciplined, opportunistic football on both sides of the ball and protecting possession better than any team in the league.
The streak began in Week 5, when Dallas’ defense forced two interceptions while the offense committed none. Since then, the formula has repeated: aggressive defense, controlled offense, and a relentless focus on ball security.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, this marks the first time in Cowboys franchise history that the team has gone four straight games with at least one takeaway and zero giveaways. The feat underscores just how sharp head coach Mike McCarthy’s group has been during the midseason stretch.
Quarterback Dak Prescott, who has thrown zero interceptions over that span, credited the entire offense for the improvement.
“It’s all about trust and execution,” Prescott said. “We’ve been protecting the ball, making smart decisions, and our defense keeps giving us chances. That’s winning football.”
Meanwhile, defensive coordinator Dan Quinn’s unit has continued to dominate. Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs have led the way in forcing turnovers, helping Dallas maintain one of the NFL’s best takeaway margins.
The Cowboys now sit near the top of the NFC standings, fueled by complementary football and a renewed emphasis on fundamentals.
“We talk every week about discipline and ball security,” McCarthy said after the game. “It’s not flashy — but it’s how you win consistently.”
The stat may not be as glamorous as a 400-yard passing day or a highlight-reel catch, but it reflects something far more valuable: sustainable, championship-level football.
If the Cowboys can maintain this balance between aggression and control, the streak could become a defining stretch of their 2025 season — and perhaps, a turning point in their pursuit of a deep playoff run.
