The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off a blockbuster deal for Shohei Ohtani, are reportedly quietly considering another big trade — a reunion between Ohtani and his former Angels teammate Mike Trout. This could be a historic move, according to transfer experts, transforming the Dodgers into a super-powerful offense and star-driven team.

Mike Trout, a three-time MLB MVP, signed a 12-year, $426.5 million contract with the Angels — a “huge” salary but also one that comes with a high risk of injury. Still, Trout’s name value and talent have many believing the Dodgers “can afford to take the risk” of bringing him in, especially as they look to bolster their foreign roster and add offensive depth.
According to Chrisopher Kline (FanSided), the Dodgers have a lot of space in the outfield and could use Trout as part of their starting lineup: imagine Trout playing cleanup behind Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman — this setup would take the Dodgers’ offense to the next level.

However, the biggest problem is finances. Trout is still on a sky-high salary, and not many teams can afford to “carry” his salary. FanSided believes that the Angels may refuse to let go of their big star, but if any team “dare to take the risk,” it is the Dodgers — who are already willing to spend heavily on Ohtani.
For the Dodgers, this deal is not only offensive but also strengthens their global influence and image: Ohtani + Trout will be a powerful symbol, able to attract fans all over the world. This would not only help Los Angeles maintain its strength on the field, but also raise its brand profile.
However, everything is still in the realm of “prediction”: there are no confirmed reports that the Dodgers and Angels have reached an agreement, and the salary and contract differences could be a major hurdle. If this deal happens, it will be one of the most daring trades in MLB history.
