US singer-songwriter Chappell Roan arrives for the 2025 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5, 2025, in New York. Rock en Seine Festival takes place until August 24, 2025, in the national domain of Saint-Cloud, near Paris, with a broad variety of artists, including Chappell Roan.
The singer has gone back to her coloured roots
American singer Chappell Roan is unrecognisable as she surprised her fans with a brand new look. The Good Luck, Babe! singer decided to completely transform her look, ditching her signature fiery red-coloured hair for a darker shade.
Interestingly though, the new look is her natural hair colour, marking the shocking change as a literal return to her roots.
Ever since the singer shot to fame last year, she has been instantly recognisable by her red hair. Her bouncy red curls are also featured on the cover of her iconic 2023 album, The Rise and Fall of Midwest Princess.
She debuted the new look at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, where she performed four sold-out gigs as part of her The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess: Vision of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things tour.
Posted across various social media platforms, fan footage from her recent performance in NYC shows Chappell having a blast while proudly showing off her new look.
One fan took to X and said: “I can’t believe I got to witness in real time Chappell Roan revealing her new brown hair. Twas an honour.” A second one wrote: “I disappear for a couple of days and Chappell Roan has brown hair now?????”
“Chappell Roan dyed her hair brunette…… just fell to my knees……,” a third one penned, whilst another one pointed out: “Is brunette Chappell Roan gorgeous? Yes. Do I already miss the red hair? Also yes.” The internet, as per usual, went into a state of disbelief and admiration.
The Grammy winner has had a very successful year, performing in many well-known festivals such as the Primavera Sound in Spain and the Reading Festival in the United Kingdom. Her striking performances and talent have made her one of pop’s most exciting new voices.
She’s set to play four more shows in the upcoming weeks, first stopping in her native home in Missouri, and then heading off to Pasadena, California, and concluding her tour with one last show in Mexico City.
