Rapper Cardi B has announced that she’s expecting a baby with her partner Stefon Diggs. She has expressed excitement over the news, which has been shared in an interview this week ahead of her new album’s release later this month. Cardi, 32, is already a parent to three children. She shares kids Kulture, seven, Wave, four, and Blossom, one, with her ex Offset, 33. She’s more recently been linked to Stefon, 31, who has a child from a previous relationship himself.

The Grammy winner has now confirmed that she is expecting a baby with NFL player Stefon. She shared that she is “excited” to have a fourth child and, speaking about her relationship, said that the couple are supportive of each other.

Cardi was asked about rumours that she’s having another baby during an interview on CBS Mornings, which was released today. She confirmed the news to host Gayle King, before discussing how she was feeling about it. Announcing the news in the interview, Cardi told Gayle: “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs.” She added that she’s “happy” and “excited,” before telling the CBS show that she’s in a “good space” at the moment.

Cardi, who is preparing to release her second album Am I the Drama? this month before heading on tour in February, said that she feels “powerful”. She said: “I feel very strong, I feel very powerful, that I’m doing all this work but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”

Speaking about her relationship, Cardi, who has been romantically linked to Stefon since last year, said that they are “very supportive” of each other. She went on to discuss being in a different career to her sports star partner. Cardi however said that they are both “one of the best” in their respective industries, comparing herself to her partner. She went on to tell host Gayle that Stefon makes her feel “safe” and “confident”.

Addressing the pregnancy, Cardi teased that they had “too much fun” and she also spoke about her decision to share the news now. She said that she hadn’t been “hiding” but wanted to make the announcement in her own time. She added that she wanted to share the news on her own terms too. Cardi also said in the interview that she wanted to close “some deals first” before announcing to fans that she’s now expecting a baby with her partner Stefon.

Cardi also teased that, now that the news is out, people should buy her upcoming album, which is due to be released on Friday, to support her as a mother-of-four. She said: “Now y’all could buy my album so I can buy Pampers and diapers and all that type of stuff. […] Go support my album, cause I’m a mother of four now.”
