John Schneider, who Blue Jays fans often call “the architect of the future,” has just completed the coaching staff for the 2025 season with the addition of three potential new faces. The Toronto team officially confirmed Lou Iannotti as assistant hitting coach, Graham Johnson as bullpen coach, and Sam Greene as assistant pitching coach.

Lou Iannotti – a young hitter full of ideas
Iannotti, 32, previously worked in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization as a hitting coordinator.

He brings valuable experience in building hitting strategies and working closely with young players to the Blue Jays. According to TSN, this is a big step in upgrading the offensive coaching staff.
Johnson, a former pitching coach for AAA team Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (part of the Yankees organization), was named the Blue Jays’ bullpen coach.

Johnson’s experience and ability to manage pressure will help improve the team’s late-game pitching.
Sam Greene – Analyst Becomes Pitching Coach
Sam Greene joined the Jays in 2021, bringing years of research and development experience.
Greene served as a senior pitching research specialist last year, and has now been promoted to assistant pitching coach – a role that is crucial in integrating analytics with actual play.
Schneider chose these three not only for their technical potential but also for their long-term vision. Iannotti, Johnson, and Greene will help complete the coaching structure Schneider is building: they are the pieces that will help the team improve its offensive production, maintain pitching depth, and develop a data-driven strategy.

According to Canadian Baseball Network, balancing modern analytics with traditional wisdom is a top priority under Schneider.
It’s a clear move: The Blue Jays want to move forward, not just with talented players, but with a sophisticated and flexible coaching system.
Jays fans are counting on this trio. Lou Iannotti is expected to bring out the potential in the hitters; Greene will assist Schneider in deciding who should pitch and when to use analytics to make decisions; and Johnson can strengthen the pitching staff to handle big games.
If Schneider succeeds in getting the most out of these three coaches, the Blue Jays could be a much more formidable team next season — not just with players, but with a strong coaching structure.
