The festivities will begin at 1 p.m. on January 1 with the official swearing-in of Mamdani as New York City’s 111th mayor. Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and Comptroller-elect Mark Levine will also be sworn in during the ceremony. The inauguration now aims to translate that electoral momentum into a visible mandate.
