Real Madrid is facing a concern as new signing Franco Mastantuono could miss up to seven crucial matches due to being called up to the Argentina U20 team for the U20 World Cup. Mastantuono, who recently impressed during the international break with Argentina, has been featured by coach Xabi Alonso in recent Real Madrid matches. However, this situation may change in the coming weeks.
According to El Chiringuito TV, Mastantuono will participate in the U20 World Cup, where Argentina is drawn in a group with Italy, Australia, and Cuba. The tournament will begin at the end of September and run until October 19. If the Argentina U20 team advances all the way to the final, Mastantuono could miss as many as seven Real Madrid matches.
Although Mastantuono only joined the club this summer, his absence during a crucial period of the season will pose a challenge for Xabi Alonso. This not only affects the team’s strategy but also leaves Real Madrid without an important addition to their squad.
At present, Real Madrid is awaiting final decisions regarding Mastantuono’s status and whether he can return in time for key La Liga and international matches. While this is a great opportunity for Mastantuono to showcase his talent at the U20 World Cup, Real Madrid will face challenges without the young player’s services.
