Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is under fire for the disastrous Week 7 defeat at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals — and Pittsburgh’s former safety turned ESPN analyst Ryan Clark isn’t pulling any punches.
A day after the disheartening loss to the Bengals, Clark tore into Tomlin for allowing the Week 7 upset — placing the blame fully on the head coach’s shoulders.
“He has failed this team, especially on Thursday night,” Clark said via ESPN’s First Take. “When you’re a great coach, you’re supposed to get your team prepared to win the most important games. You often highlight not having a playoff win since 2016. If you’re 0-6 on Thursday night, on the road in the AFC North, your team needs to understand that. … Mike Tomlin did not have this team prepared to finish.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Clark has taken aim at his former coach, as this past July he blasted Tomlin — as well as Aaron Rodgers — for underachieving in their respective careers.
