TT – Stephon Marbury, a 40-year-old American basketball star, has just reached an agreement to own a team in the Chinese Football League (CAFL) in the near future.
This information was confirmed by Marbury’s manager – Mr. Gustavus Bass. “He plans to buy a team in the American Professional Basketball League (NBA) or the American Football Championship (NFL). But at the moment, a team in the CAFL is just right for him” – AFP news agency quoted Mr. Bass. Marbury’s team is clearly shown to belong to the city of Beijing.

Marbury’s purchase of the CAFL team shows his intention to stay in Chinese sports for a long time. The former star of the US basketball team moved to China to play in 2010, playing for the Shanzi, Foshan Dralions, Beijing Ducks and now Beijing Fly Dragons. Marbury has also announced that he will officially retire after the end of this year’s season with the Fly Dragons.
