Stephen Curry Declares Warriors Ready for New NBA Season

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has delivered a message that fans in the Bay Area have been waiting to hear: the team is ready. Speaking to reporters in San Francisco on Sunday, Curry expressed confidence in the Warriors’ preparation as they head into the 2025–26 NBA season, determined to reassert themselves as a championship contender.

“We’ve worked hard all summer, our focus is sharp, and we’re ready to compete at the highest level,” Curry said. “Every season brings new challenges, but this group has the right mix of experience and hunger to rise to the occasion.”

The Warriors, who have defined much of the last decade of basketball dominance, enter the season with questions but also renewed optimism. After an uneven campaign last year that ended earlier than many expected, the franchise spent the offseason making adjustments designed to balance veteran leadership with emerging talent.

At the heart of it all is Curry, now in his mid-30s but still regarded as one of the league’s most dangerous offensive weapons. His shooting, playmaking, and leadership remain the foundation of the Warriors’ identity. Alongside him, veterans Draymond Green and Klay Thompson continue to provide stability, while Andrew Wiggins is tasked with reasserting himself as a two-way force. Together, the trio forms the core of a team that has proven it can win at the highest level.

Yet, this season is also about the next generation. Young players such as Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Brandin Podziemski are expected to play larger roles, giving Golden State the athleticism and depth it lacked in stretches last year. Head coach Steve Kerr has emphasized the importance of blending youthful energy with veteran wisdom, creating a system where both groups elevate one another.

“We’ve been through just about everything together,” Kerr said. “What excites me about this team is the growth of our young guys. They’re hungry, and they’re learning from some of the best leaders in the game. That combination gives us a real chance to compete.”

The Warriors also spent time fine-tuning their defensive schemes, an area that slipped during stretches of last season. Green, who remains the emotional anchor of the team, noted that the group has recommitted to discipline and communication on that end of the floor. “Defense has always been the backbone of our success,” he said. “If we take care of that, everything else falls into place.”

For Golden State fans, the excitement surrounding opening night at Chase Center is palpable. Ticket sales surged over the summer, and the franchise has leaned into its championship legacy with promotional campaigns highlighting both the dynasty years and the future ahead. The buzz reflects not just nostalgia for past glory but genuine belief that another deep playoff run is possible.

Still, the Western Conference remains a gauntlet. The Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Los Angeles Clippers all enter the season with high expectations, while emerging teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder are eager to challenge the established powers. The Warriors will need consistency, particularly on the road, to keep pace in one of the most competitive landscapes in recent memory.

For Curry, however, the focus is inward. “We can’t control the noise outside,” he said. “What we can control is how we prepare, how we compete, and how we trust each other. That’s what has always made us special.”

As the season tips off this week, the Warriors find themselves at a familiar crossroads: veterans who know how to win, young players eager to prove themselves, and a superstar who refuses to let the dynasty narrative fade. Whether this mix is enough to carry them back to the NBA’s mountaintop remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—Stephen Curry believes they are ready.
