Player of the Year: Jordan Matthews, QB, Lincoln High
The crown jewel of the evening went to Lincoln High’s senior quarterback Jordan Matthews, who earned the prestigious Player of the Year award. Throwing for over 3,200 yards and 38 touchdowns, Matthews showcased not just athletic talent but leadership and poise, traits that TQC officials praised during the ceremony.
Offensive and Defensive Standouts
Alongside Matthews, several athletes were recognized for excelling on offense and defense. Running back Marcus Hayes of Godby High received the Offensive Player of the Year award after racking up more than 1,800 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. His combination of speed, vision, and power made him a nightmare for opposing defenses all season.
On the defensive side, Wakulla High’s linebacker, Isaiah Carter, was named Defensive Player of the Year. Carter led the region in tackles and sacks, anchoring a defense that consistently shut down some of the state’s most potent offenses. His intensity and football IQ made him a standout not only on the field but also as a leader in the locker room.
