President Trump on Saturday called Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene a “disgrace” to the Republican Party after she ripped him on social media for shunning her demands that the administration release documents related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“Marjorie ‘traitor’ Green is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
Trump shot back roughly an hour after the Georgia Republican verbally attacked the president – without mentioning him by name – over his decision to pull his support of her re-election campaign over her interest in the Epstein files.
“I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” she said on X Saturday morning.
“And it truly speaks for itself. There needs to be a new way forward. The toxic political industrial complex thrives on ripping us all apart but never delivers anything good for the American people, whom I love.
“We have far more in common than we have apart. I believe in the American people more than I believe in any leader or political party and the American people deserve so much better than how they have been treated by both sides of the aisle. The way forward is America First America Only. And that may be the most dangerous pursuit of all,” continued the controversial and outspoken representative.
Following Trump’s response Saturday, Greene claimed the president’s vitriol has her fearing for her life.
“I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” she claimed on X.
“The man I supported and helped get elected.”
“As a woman I take threats from men seriously,” she said. “I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel.”
Also on Saturday, 27 Epstein victims signed a letter of support for Greene, calling her a “survivor by proxy.”
“Thank you for standing up against the intimidation, silencing and abuse that Epstein survivors have endured for decades,” they wrote.
Trump on Friday called Greene “wacky” and a “lunatic” amid her demands, saying on Truth Social “I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia.”
The president laid out a laundry list of his “Record Achievements for our Country,” but fumed that “over the past few weeks” Greene has only grumbled about his administration.
“[A]ll I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!” Trump wrote.
