Trump Names High-Profile Democrats in Explosive Remarks About Epstein Scandal
During a private meeting in Scotland on July 28, 2025, President Donald Trump stunned U.K. leaders by directly addressing the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, publicly naming several prominent Democrats while insisting he had no connection to Epstein’s private island.
Speaking alongside Prime Minister Keir Starmer and other officials, Trump stated, “I never went [to Epstein’s island]. And Bill Clinton went there supposedly 28 times. I never went to the island, but Larry Summers, I hear, went there… and many other very big people. Nobody ever talks about them.”
Trump went on to recount his own past dealings with Epstein, emphasizing that he cut ties with the financier in the early 2000s after Epstein allegedly tried to recruit members of Trump’s staff. “I threw him out—persona non grata,” the President said.
He also dismissed claims regarding a supposed drawing he had sent Epstein, responding bluntly, “I don’t do drawings of women—that I can tell you.”
Trump described the broader media attention surrounding the Epstein case as “a hoax blown out of proportion,” and, when asked about Ghislaine Maxwell’s ongoing legal situation, he said it would be “inappropriate” to discuss potential pardons at this time.
The remarks immediately reverberated through both political and media circles, as Trump sought to turn the spotlight onto Democratic figures long rumored to have had connections to Epstein. His comments have reignited debate over who within political and business elites may have been involved with Epstein’s operations—and to what extent those ties have been shielded from public scrutiny.
Trump’s forceful denial and sharp accusations have added a new and dramatic layer to the ongoing controversy, leaving many in Washington and beyond calling for deeper investigation and accountability.
