Born on July 13, 1982, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Yadier Molina is the third member of the Molina family to pursue a career as a catcher in the MLB. Since he was a boy, he nurtured the dream of becoming a great player, and fate brought him to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2000 through the fourth round of the draft.
Making his MLB debut on June 3, 2004, Molina quickly proved himself to be not only a talented player but also a symbol of perseverance and dedication. During his 19 years with the Cardinals, he never played for another team – a testament to his unwavering loyalty.

Despite retiring after the 2022 season, Molina has never left the Cardinals. In August 2025, he returned to Busch Stadium as a guest coach for two games against the Chicago Cubs.
